A Mount Prospect man was arrested Thursday night after Des Plaines police found cannabis and a loaded handgun in his car during a traffic stop, authorities said.

Damione Howard, 22, of the 1400 block of South Busse Road, is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Des Plaines police stopped Howard’s Chevrolet Camaro at about 9:15 p.m. on the 100 block of East Oakton Street because he was speeding and crossed lane dividers, according to a news release.

In addition to the gun charge, Howard was ticketed for speeding and improper lane usage. He was released after being processed.
