Winter Family Fun in the Neighborhood: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Ave. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of free, family-friendly activities and entertainment, including interactive games, arts and crafts, face painting, and more.
Summer Job Fair: 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Main Street Recreation Center, 501 Hill Ave. The Glen Ellyn Park District is hosting a job fair for positions available for the upcoming summer. Applicants ranging from high schoolers (age 15 or older) to senior adults can explore the district’s various departments, learn about open summer positions, and interview with hiring managers. Available jobs include camp counselor, lifeguard, admissions staff, parks maintenance, and more. No registration is required for this free event.
Sportswap: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road. Gear up for the new season at the Sportswap with Go Green Glen Ellyn. Refresh your athletic gear by finding “new-to-you” equipment at this community swap event. Sports equipment will be collected from Monday to Saturday, March 3-8. Admission to shop the swap is free.
Trivia Night: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road. Test your knowledge and compete for prizes! This all-ages trivia experience covers a wide range of topics, from sports to movies, music, and more. Enjoy picture clues, song snippets, and other media as helpful hints. The event consists of six rounds, with prizes awarded to the winners. Registration is on a team basis, with a maximum of six people per team. The fee is $30 for residents and $40 for nonresidents. March Food Drive: March 13-20 at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road. Make a difference this March! Take part in the park district’s food drive in honor of National Nutrition Month. Drop off nonperishable food items and toiletries at Ackerman SFC during normal business hours to help stock the shelves of the Glen House Food Pantry. Visit gepark.org/drives.
March Blood Drive: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road. Give the gift of life this March! Take part in the park district’s blood drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. Appointments are recommended for blood donations, but walk-ups are welcome. Visit gepark.org/drives.
