Fires made worse by mismanagement
As the world watches some of the richest real estate in not only Southern California but the country burn to the ground, most of this could have been avoided. I told my son a little anecdote shared with me about 15 years from a work colleague who lived in California when I asked him about the mudslide, fires, etc., and why they were so bad. This is what he said:
· They don’t manage the forests, overgrowth and vegetation properly
· When it rains they cannot collect any run off water due to laws and environmental regulations, most of which are ridiculous.
· When the first two items aren’t being properly addressed fires are consequently larger.
After the fires are extinguished, the vegetation is gone, when they get heavy rains, mudslides start.
After the mudslide cleanup, the whole cycle repeats itself.
So I have to ask the question how can you expect a different result when you keep running the same experiment. The people of California want better, they need to choose better leaders.
