Mayor, Northwestern Medicine honored by Grayslake business group
The Grayslake Economic Development Commission has selected Rhett Taylor, mayor of the village of Grayslake, as the recipient of the 2024 Business Leader of the Year Award.
The award is given each year to an individual or organizations whose contributions promote economic development in Grayslake.
Taylor is being recognized for his decades-long service to the community and outstanding leadership in support of the expansion of the local economy.
He helped Grayslake expand its tax base, create jobs and brought increased awareness and positive recognition to the town.
Taylor will be recognized at the Chamber Board Installation & Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at First Draft in downtown Grayslake.
The commission also will recognize Northwestern Medicine with the 2024 Economic Development Award.
It is given each year to businesses, organizations or individuals who promote an environment that provides additional job opportunities and/or make significant contributions to the expansion of the community’s tax base and generation of additional revenues.
Northwestern Medicine is being recognized for its 20 years of positive contributions to Grayslake including substantial investment in the village, expansion of the local economy, and creating a larger tax base and new job opportunities.
