‘Year of the Snake’ celebrated during Lunar New Year event
Hundreds of people celebrated the arrival of Lunar New Year with entertainment, food and crafts at the Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center Saturday.

Onstage entertainment kicked off with a dragon dance performance by a group from Stevenson High School, followed by songs by a children’s choir.
The Lunar New Year, the “Year of the Snake,” begins Jan. 29.
“It's a way for us to have a fun event in our community that is reflective of a significant population of people in our community,” said Mike Terson, superintendent of communications for the Buffalo Grove Park District.
