College of DuPage faculty and staff receive League for Innovation Excellence Awards

Twelve College of DuPage faculty members and staff have been honored as recipients of the 2024-25 League for Innovation in the Community College Excellence Awards.

For 55 years, the League for Innovation in the Community College has inspired and celebrated innovation in learning, teaching, staff development and student success.

The Excellence Awards recognize outstanding leaders in the community college field who have made a significant difference in the lives of students and in the communities their colleges serve.

The honorees are:

• Danielle Berry-Herrera, Languages, adjunct faculty member

• Tashena Briggs, manager of Academic Outreach and Program Development

• Robert Burrows, Computer and Information Systems, adjunct faculty member

• Jennifer Duda, senior manager of News Bureau and Community Engagement

• Steven Havens, Music, adjunct faculty member

• Jen Hill, Mathematics, professor

• Tracy Morser, Mathematics, adjunct faculty member

• Steve Santello, Computer and Information Science, professor

• Laura Scully, Dental Hygiene, adjunct faculty member

• Margot Underwood, Psychology, adjunct faculty member

• Tony Venezia, Motion Picture and Television, professor

• Shannon Wood, English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, and Adult Secondary Education, adjunct faculty member

“These prestigious awards are a testament to the extraordinary efforts of our faculty and staff who go above and beyond to support student success and community enrichment,” said COD Interim President Dr. Christine Hammond. “At COD, innovation and excellence are at the heart of everything we do, and I am proud to see our team recognized on a national stage for their impactful contributions.”
