Explore the best regional gardens with St. Charles library program

The St. Charles Public Library invites you to take a peek at the beautiful gardens nearby with Brock and Ruth Ann Seney as you start to plan your garden visits.

“Ten Gardens within Six Hours of Home” is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. in the library’s Huntley Community Room.

The program will feature the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe; Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids Township, Michigan; and Reiman Gardens on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa, among others.

The Seneys are avid travelers and have been visiting gardens wherever they have traveled. Ruth Ann has been gardening since she was a child. She is a Master Gardener with the University of Illinois Master Gardeners program. Brock has taken classes at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Before retirement, both were high school teachers.

To register, visit scpld.org or call our Research and Reading desk at (630) 584-0076, ext. 1. The St. Charles Public Library is located at One S. Sixth Avenue in St. Charles.
