Faith Feeds Food Pantry partners with Endeavor Health to improve its physical location
Faith Feeds, an interfaith and community agency response to food insecurity that concentrates on “Nourishing Our Community One Neighbor at a Time,” has announced its selection as a partner in Endeavor Health’s 2025 Community Investment Fund.
Faith Feeds has been awarded $315,100 to support the addition of a new walk-in cooler and freezer, aimed at allowing Faith Feeds to better leverage food resources from the Greater Chicago Food Depository; food rescue programs; and purchased foods, like eggs, milk and dairy.
“We estimate that this improvement will save Faith Feeds somewhere between $3,000 to $10,000 a month, and those funds can support our clients in other ways while increasing the overall sustainability of the pantry operations,” said Seth Moland-Kovash, Faith Feeds Board Member and executive director for Partners for Our Communities. “While construction timelines can be difficult to predict, we’re optimistic that demolition could start in March, renovations in April through June and a dedication of the new space in July of this year.”
Endeavor Health selected Faith Feeds as one of 44 local organizations across Chicagoland to collaborate on programs focused on behavioral health, food and housing insecurity and access to care.
“At the heart of the Community Investment Fund is our role as a convener, connecting organizations and fostering partnerships that amplify their collective impact,” said Kristen Murtos, chief innovation and transformation officer at Endeavor Health. “By bringing together diverse community groups, we don’t just fund projects, we create opportunities for collaboration that drive innovation, spark new ideas and deliver solutions that are greater than the sum of the parts.”
Faith Feeds aims to reduce its spending on dairy and meat products that could otherwise be obtained at no cost by 85% compared to 2024. This shift will free up resources for providing a broader range of healthy refrigerated and frozen options — such as milk, eggs, cheese, meat and fresh produce — to community members. By making more nutritious foods accessible, Faith Feeds expects that 80% of its clients will report increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, dairy and meat over the coming year.
