New contract pending for North Barrington administrator

North Barrington trustees could approve a new contract with Village Administrator John Lobaito when the board meets Wednesday night.

Lobaito’s hourly pay rate will increase to $96 per hour, up from $88, if the deal is approved. That’s a 9% bump.

Lobaito joined the North Barrington village staff shortly after retiring as Mundelein’s village administrator in 2020, initially on an interim basis. He also serves as North Barrington’s clerk and collector.

He was awarded the North Barrington job on a more permanent basis in 2022.

In a memo, Village President Eleanor Sweet McDonnell praised Lobaito for making organizational changes that have improved the overall efficiency and increased the professionalism of village operations.

“His experience in local government continues to be an invaluable asset to the Village,” McDonnell wrote. “The Village is truly fortunate to have John Lobaito as an integral part of the North Barrington team.”

Wednesday’s meeting is set for 7 p.m. at village hall, 111 Old Barrington Road.
