Something to hide?

Donald Trump’s legal team is trying to block release of the report on his handling of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, calling it a political attack.

Why is it that when it comes to releasing investigation findings about Democrats, Republicans are ardent full disclosure/First Amendment proponents, but when the findings pertain to one of their own, they cry political persecution?
