GPS Parent Series in Urdu to focus on warmth and connection in families

On Thursday, Jan. 23, B-PAC: Glenbard Bilingual Parent Advisory Council and the GPS Parent Series in Urdu will present “Essentials of Positive Parenting” with Saleha Jawaid at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

Patience, empathy, and consistent communication enhance parent-child connections. Jawaid will share tips on creating an environment to foster unconditional support. Showing children love, warmth and kindness can guide them to do better in school, make good decisions and demonstrate stronger mental health.

When young people know consistent warmth from someone who loves them and cares about their well-being, they have the confidence to face life’s inherent challenges.

Jawaid is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and works as a DuPage Recovery Community Organization coordinator with Serenity House Counseling Services. She works on community initiatives to raise awareness and provides prevention education.
