Prospect Heights’ proposed chicken regulations to remain tabled
Prospect Heights’ proposed regulations on backyard chickens and other fowl will remain indefinitely tabled.
City officials said recently it won’t appear on the council agenda anytime soon.
Last month, Mayor Patrick Ludvigsen explained the council wanted more time to delve into details of the controversial ordinance, despite months of debate and public input at various committees and commissions.
While the suggested rules are favored by some residents as a protection against the noise and smells of poorly kept chickens, experienced owners of the birds have argued existing laws are sufficient.
