American Legion Auxiliary delivers cheers to safe houses
The holidays can be stressful for those staying in safe houses, especially for children. Members of the American Legion Auxiliary wanted to make Christmas a little less tense for them by donating and delivering Christmas gifts to several safe houses in Lake County.
Mary Blankenship, Commander of the Deerfield American Legion, and LaVera Davis, President of the 10th District American Legion Auxiliary, spent a day delivering gifts to the safe houses throughout Lake County. The American Legion Family hopes these gifts bring a smile to those who are not in their own homes for the holidays.
