How you can recycle holiday lights in Des Plaines

The Des Plaines Public Works and Engineering Department can help you safely recycle unwanted holiday lights.

The department is collecting lights with a variety of bulbs and extension cords on Wednesdays through February at the public works facility, 1111 Joseph J. Schwab Road. Lights can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Lights must be removed from wreaths, garland or other items.
