Thief steals $1,300 in credits at Rivers Casino, police say

A gambler at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines reported losing roughly $1,300 in credits on Wednesday when he walked away from a gambling machine without cashing out, police said Friday in a news release.

Someone else walked up to the machine while the gambler was away, put the credits on a paper voucher and left with the voucher, police said.

The theft occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. that day, police said.
