Caldecott-winning author/illustrator Matthew Cordell to launch new book at Lake Villa library

Award-winning author and illustrator Matthew Cordell will unveil his latest picture book, “To See an Owl,” at Lake Villa District Library, 140 N. Munn Road, Lindenhurst, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12.

The event will feature a reading by Cordell, along with stories about his birding adventures. Attendees will have the chance to receive a limited-edition signed print, while supplies last.

Copies of “To See an Owl” will also be available for purchase and signing, courtesy of The Book Stall. Cordell is best known for winning the prestigious Caldecott Medal in 2018 for “Wolf in the Snow.” In 2020, he wrote and illustrated “Hello Neighbor! The Kind and Caring World of Mister Rogers,” the only authorized picture book about Fred Rogers.
