Amid various views, writer’s spite stands out
I cannot agree more with Stephen J. Gohmann’s comments in the Dec. 21 Daily Herald. His characterization of Susan Estrich was totally on point. As Mr. Gohmann rightfully states, she continually spews a hatred for Donald Trump and Republicans in general.
In an article prior to the election, she predicted that Kamala Harris would “wipe the floor” with Trump. Oops. After the election, her article blamed the Harris loss on white women, white/black/Hispanic men and Joe Biden. Ms. Estrich seems to have conveniently forgotten about the economy, crime in the streets, the border and the candidates (Kamala Harris/Tim Walz) themselves.
I agree that it is an important tactic in the Opinion column of the Daily Herald to present opposing views of topics. That makes for good reading and insightful thoughts.
Case in point, as one reads articles provided by Bryon York, one would easily realize that he is a right-leaning columnist, but nowhere close to the ugly vitriol and ultra-extreme views shared in her columns.
I welcome other thoughts from those who enjoy reading the Opinion section of the Daily Herald.
