Suburban woman arrested on warrant tied to Des Plaines credit card scam, police say

A Dolton woman wanted in connection with a 2016 case of identity theft in Des Plaines has been arrested, police announced Monday, Dec. 23.

Nachea Grayson, 32, of the 1400 block of East 155th Place, is charged with one felony count of identity theft.

Grayson was arrested in Chicago and turned over to Des Plaines police on Sunday night.

While being questioned by Des Plaines police, Grayson admitted being part of a group that would receive stolen credit cards in the mail with instructions for requesting advances from banks, according to a news release.

Grayson would get money for an unknown person and keep a percentage of each transaction, according to the release, police said.

In the Des Plaines case, Grayson wrote a victim’s name and address on the receipt for the cash advance but signed her own name, police said.
