The path to Bethlehem: Luminaria hike at Lake Zurich church illuminates the Christmas story
A recent luminaria hike at Quentin Road Baptist Church in Lake Zurich offered a unique way to connect with the Christmas story.
According to information about the event, titled the Christmas Luminary Hike, participants could “navigate (their) way to Bethlehem in search of Baby Jesus.”
The half-mile hike featured 2,000 or more luminarias, as well as people portraying townspeople, shepherds, angels, and wise men.
It featured a live Nativity, Christmas photo opportunities, hot chocolate and baked goods, live Christmas music and a warming station.
