Huntley church partners with Alzheimer's Association for dementia caregiver support group
In collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley will be offering a support group for caregivers of family members and friends with dementia.
The first monthly will be an education program for members of Shepherd of the Prairie and members of the Huntley community on Tuesday, Jan. 21. It will be at 2 p.m. at the church, 10805 Main St.
The gathering will be led by David Rohlwing from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. Rohlwing has been a support group leader and an education provider through the Alzheimer’s Association for many years. Also present will be Ailene Zei from the Alzheimer’s Association.
The support group will continue to meet the third Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. so that attendees will have the opportunity to learn and support each other.
