Gravitea Boba expands to Batavia

Gravitea Boba’s new Batavia location at 2004 W. Wilson St. opened Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Batavia Chamber of Commerce.

The Gravitea Boba franchise opened its first location in April 2022 in Schaumburg.

Three other locations have opened in the Chicago suburbs, with three more under construction.

Batavia Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Margaret Perreault marked the celebration, along with Nathan and Sylvia Figueroa, co-owners of Gravitea Boba Batavia and Humza Razzak, Gravitea Boba franchise CEO and business developer, according to a news release from the chamber.

Among the attendees were Anthony Isom, Batavia economic development manager; Patti Anselme, chamber special events coordinator; Shirley Mott, chamber communications and membership coordinator, Batavia chamber ambassadors and Gravitea Boba family and friends, according to the release.

Gravitea Boba is a café with a menu built around the popular boba or bubble tea. Along with signature bubble teas, menu items include milk teas, smoothies, fruit teas, coffees, soups, other food items and a rotating selection of fresh, Italian-made gelatos.

The store offers lounge and table seating, with free Wi-Fi. Expected store hours are noon to 10 p.m. daily, except Tuesday and Thursday when the store closes at 9 p.m.
