Senate also should join condemnation

I’d like to thank the Illinois members of the U.S. Congress for passing the Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R. 4132). Falun Gong practitioners live by the principles of truthfulness, kindness and tolerance and yet they’ve been imprisoned and tortured in China since 1999.

Evidence has been produced to suggest that as part of its persecution of Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party maintains a state-organized practice of forced organ harvesting — killing people to remove their organs for transplantation. The state reaps lucrative benefits from those who travel to China to receive an organ, sometimes within two weeks, a waiting time so short as to be unheard of anywhere else.

The Falun Gong Protection Act is a response to such an evil and aims to penalize perpetrators and protect the U.S. from complicity in a crime against humanity.

The bill is now before the Senate and hopefully our senators will join the fight against this unimaginable crime.
