Carol Stream mayor appoints Jim Guthrie as new village trustee

On Dec. 16, Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino appointed James M. “Jim” Guthrie as a village trustee.

A 24-year resident of Carol Stream, Guthrie will fill Rick Gieser’s term until the election in April 2025. Gieser was elected to the DuPage County Forest Preserve Board.

Guthrie is a manager with Spaulding Ridge and the founder of the Brittany’s Trees charity for the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes (SADS) Foundation.

He and incumbent trustees Jeff Berger and Matt McCarthy have declared their candidacy for the 2025 election. They are the only candidates running for the three seats.
