‘Love Knows Your Name’ at Our Saviour’s Christmas worship

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Naperville welcomes all to its Christmas Eve and Christmas Day worship, happening at both of the church’s campuses in central Naperville.

The theme for this year’s Christmas services, “Love Knows Your Name,” reflects Jesus’s “radical, inclusive love for all,” says the Rev. Brian Wise, Our Saviour’s senior pastor.

Christmas Eve services geared especially toward families with young children will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Celebration Campus, 919 S. Washington St. in Naperville, and at 4:30 p.m. at the Our Saviour’s Campus located at 815 S. Washington St. (next to Edward Hospital). Both will feature a dynamic kids’ retelling of the nativity story.

The 2:30 p.m. service will feature a contemporary worship band; the 4:30 p.m. service will feature traditional Christmas carols.

At 8 p.m., Our Saviour’s will offer a service of Lessons and Carols at the 815 S. Washington St. campus; an 11 p.m. service featuring the church’s Sanctuary Choir and handbells will conclude with a greeting of Christmas morning. All Christmas Eve services will include a candlelit singing of “Silent Night.”

On Christmas Day, Our Saviour’s will offer an 11 a.m. service at the 815 S. Washington St. campus with favorite carols.

Brian Wise, senior pastor at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. “At all of our services, from our afternoon family services to our evening services with instrumentalists and candlelight, we celebrate not only the miracle of Jesus’s birth but also the radically welcoming love that Jesus’s life embodied. We are proud to have that love be a core part of our identity and to share that good news of Jesus’s love for all on Christmas and every day!”
