Shoe Factory Road closing Tuesday in Hoffman Estates

Shoe Factory Road in Hoffman Estates will be closed between Beverly Road and Sutton Road starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday for emergency railroad track repairs.

Officials at Canadian National Railway expect the repairs complete by noon Wednesday.

Drivers will be directed to detour routes while the roadway is closed. The detour route uses Beverly Road on the west, Higgins Road (Route 72) on the north and Sutton Road (Route 59) on the east.

The crossing is scheduled for a complete renewal project in 2025. More information about the timing of this project will be shared when it becomes available.
