Elk Grove PD receives accreditation for 10th time

The Elk Grove Village Police Department has been awarded Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., village officials announced.

The recognition followed a rigorous, multiyear self-assessment and a thorough site-based evaluation of community engagement, policies, procedures, equipment, and facilities by CALEA assessors, officials said.

The department first obtained CALEA accreditation in 1993 and has now been reaccredited for the 10th time. This accreditation signifies that it meets public safety standards that only 5% of national law enforcement agencies are able to achieve.

The department also has received CALEA’s Advanced Meritorious Award, which honors its long-standing commitment to professional excellence through accreditation.
