85-year-old woman injured in Lake Zurich crash

An 85-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington after Lake Zurich police say the Toyota RAV 4 she was driving struck two other cars around 4:16 p.m. Friday in the vicinity of Route 12 and Ela Road in Lake Zurich.

The woman suffered a serious injury, according to Lake Zurich Police Sgt. Andrew Sieber. He had no other information on her condition.

Investigators found no skid marks and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Sieber said.

Additionally, two motorists who drove around police roadblocks received citations, according to Sieber. A 58-year-old Wheeling man was cited for a petty offense and a 64-year-old McHenry man was charged with a DUI, Sieber said.
