Suspect arrested in Des Plaines shooting
A Skokie man has been charged with firing a gun at a house on the 1500 block of Oakwood Avenue in Des Plaines earlier this week, police said Thursday.
Dakane L. Masters, 28, of the 9000 block of North Lamon Avenue, was arrested Monday, hours after the shooting, Des Plaines police said in a news release. He was charged the next day with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon and being an armed habitual criminal.
Surveillance video revealed Masters’ vehicle at the scene and leaving the area, police said. Additionally, Masters was being monitored electronically because of an unrelated arrest, authorities said.
Masters was arrested at home. A stolen pistol was found in the auto, along with other evidence, police said. Masters has been ordered jailed while the case is pending.
