Carol Stream unveils new village tree at Holiday Extravaganza
Carol Stream residents, community partners, and neighbors welcomed the holiday season on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Tree Lighting Extravaganza, featuring new activities and traditions.
The collaboration between the village of Carol Stream, Carol Stream Park District, Carol Stream Public Library, and Carol Stream Parks Foundation brought the community together for a magical evening of festive cheer.
The West Chicago Community High School Choir kicked off the evening with a charming carol sing-along, delighting the crowd who joined in singing “Here Comes Santa Claus.”
The choir then parted to reveal Santa himself, and Mayor Frank Saverino Sr. and Santa led the grand lighting of a stunning new village tree.
The evening’s festivities included jubilant performances from Carol Stream Park District dancers and POMS, music by DJ Gioncarlo Faczek, and an array of warm drinks, sweet treats and engaging activities.
Families enjoyed a petting zoo, rode miniature ponies, made s’mores around the fire, decorated cookies, and reveled in visits with Santa.
The overwhelming turnout and joyful atmosphere made the event a resounding success, symbolizing the spirit of community that defines our village. Here’s to many more years of bright and beautiful celebrations!
