Barrington real estate team collects over 600 lbs. of donations for Palatine Food Pantry
The spirit of giving is alive and well this holiday season as The Katie Kenny Group, a Barrington-based real estate team with Real Broker, hosted a food drive benefiting the Palatine Food Pantry.
Thanks to the generosity of the community and key contributors, the drive resulted in a staggering 600 pounds of food donations, marking one of the pantry’s largest collections of the year.
Among the standout donors was Stevenson High School’s “Battle of the Bird” hockey tournament, which rallied players and fans to contribute both food and monetary donations throughout the tournament week.
The Den Barrington also played a pivotal role, showcasing how local businesses can make a meaningful impact during the holidays.
“We wanted to create a ripple effect of positivity — fostering connection while addressing real needs, especially during the holidays when many feel the pressure of rising grocery costs,” said Nicole Michaels Woolery, member of the Katie Kenny Group. “Partnering with the Stevenson Hockey organization, through my longtime friends Dan Wood, head coach and hockey director, and Katie Wood, treasurer, along with The Den in Barrington, was a natural fit. Their shared commitment to giving back made this food drive an incredible success.”
The Palatine Food Pantry serves an average of 550 families each month, providing critical support to residents facing food insecurity. Events like this are essential to keeping the pantry’s shelves stocked during this busy season.
The Katie Kenny Group continues to prioritize giving back to the community, exemplifying the spirit of collaboration in making a difference. This food drive is a testament to how partnerships between schools, businesses, and local groups can bring holiday cheer to hundreds of families.
