Historic Cook home tour continues 50-plus year tradition in Libertyville

The Libertyville Historical Society welcomes visitors to experience a Victorian Christmas at the Ansel B. Cook home, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., in downtown Libertyville. Christmas finery adds to the furnishings and artifacts on display at the two-story 1878 home. Both floors are open for viewing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. Suggested donations are $5 for adults. Kids can enter for free. Highlights include a fully decorated Christmas tree, seven Italian marble fireplaces and intricately carved oak staircase decorated with greenery.
