GreenMan Theatre Troupe to bring holiday stories and carols to Elmhurst library Dec. 11
GreenMan Theatre Troupe’s free “Holiday and Seasonal Stories” event on Wednesday, Dec. 11, will feature Christmas, Hanukkah and winter stories and singing.
It will be held at 7 p.m. at Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave.
“I am sure that attendees will enjoy this relaxed evening during the holiday season where they can kick back and de-stress with some songs and funny and poignant stories,” said Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff, director.
Performers are Cassy Beach, Julie Brandon, Elliot Brtva, Melanie Concklin, Marilyn Connolly, Mary Ann Gimble, Tom Kaiser, Katie Lahey, Victoria Rebeck, Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff and Larry Vietzky. Beach also will serve as music director.
Stories include:
• “The Origin of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
• An original story about Hanukkah by Brandon
• A humorous story about Zorro the Cat and the Christmas Tree
• A touching story about an adopted boy’s first Christmas, and
• A Christmas caroling event that takes place in an unusual setting.
Attendees can register for an in-person or online space at elmhurstpubliclibrary.libcal.com/event/12973070. Online attendees must register in advance. Walk-ins for the event are also welcome. The program is suitable for adults and older children.
In its 21st season, GreenMan Theatre Troupe is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to provide a source of cultural enrichment and pride for the community by presenting diverse, quality productions and providing opportunities for personal growth in the theatrical arts.
GreenMan has been presenting plays in Elmhurst since being founded in 2003. Past productions include "Dracula," "Pride and Prejudice" and “Doubtful Abbey.” GreenMan also offers classes and workshops for members and the community and welcomes new members and participants in all aspects of theatre production. GreenMan programs are partially supported by Explore Elmhurst, as well as other individual and corporate donations.
