Grief & healing: Following through on your plan

A plan is only as good as our follow through. Otherwise a plan is just a waste of time.

First, as I’ve mentioned before, it’s important to have a plan. Secondly, this is especially true on holidays and during major holiday seasons.

So far, I did start following through. I carried out my Thanksgiving plan. And dinner turned out well. Very good actually. I thought I might go out Thanksgiving Day but I cooked at home instead. I amended my plan which is OK.

Now I’m in the process of implementing my Christmas plan:

• I am on the look out for that leg of lamb. My backup choice will be standing rib beef rib roast.

• I’ve ordered gifts for the kitties.

• I’ve ordered a couple gifts for myself and a warm red scarf to wear during this holiday season.

• I’ve made a list of what I need for side dishes. Pine nuts and other ingredients and spices.

The point is: I’m on my way to following my own advice. I have a plan and I am implementing it. So far so good.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
