Arlington Heights village manager gets contract extension and raise

A decade at the helm of municipal government in Arlington Heights, Village Manager Randy Recklaus has inked a two-year contract extension that comes with a 6% raise and $10,000 performance bonus, the village board decided this week.

The raise gives Recklaus an annual base salary of $298,603 retroactive to Nov. 10. With the one-time bonus, he will make $308,603.

His contract was set to expire Nov. 10, 2026, but Mayor Tom Hayes and village trustees decided to extend the term through Nov. 10, 2028.

The changes follow Recklaus’ annual performance evaluation in closed session with the elected board members, who said the manager has satisfactorily performed as head of day-to-day operations at village hall. He was hired in November 2014.
