Elgin Fire Department collecting winter outerwear for adults in need

The Elgin Fire Department is collecting winter outerwear to support the Community Crisis Center’s effort to provide warm clothing for adults in need.

Donations of gently used winter coats, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves for adult men and women are being accepted through Dec. 31 at all seven Elgin fire stations. All items must be clean and have no missing buttons or broken zippers.

Donors can leave items at the front door of any Elgin fire station, ring the doorbell or knock, and firefighters will collect the items.
