Maine East student organizations to host fundraising gala Dec. 5

Maine East High School’s Muslim Student Association and National Honor Society are coming together with the Success Seekers organization to host a fundraising gala on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the high school in room D200.

The goal of the gala is to raise money to further access to quality education for girls in impoverished countries.

The Muslim Student Association and National Honor Society are working in collaboration with Success Seekers, a nonprofit focused on developing female entrepreneurship and leadership.

The funds raised at the gala will be donated to Girl Rising, a nonprofit that provides global education initiatives for girls in Guatemala, India, Kenya, Nigeria and Pakistan.

The gala will include a dinner, a raffle and guest speakers from the Success Seekers organization. The keynote speaker is professor Tiana Clark from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Tickets are $15 — links to purchase and RSVP can be found at maine207.org/news/maine-east-student-organizations-to-host-fundraising-gala/.
