How you can recycle unwanted holiday lights in Mundelein

Mundelein residents and merchants can recycle unwanted holiday lights through the village.

Lights can be brought to any of these locations on weekdays through Jan. 31: village hall, 300 Plaza Circle; the public works and engineering facility, 801 Allanson Road, the main fire station, 1000 N. Midlothian Road; or the police station, 221 N. Lake St.

Collection times vary.

Bulbs don’t need to be removed from strands, but strands should be removed from bags or boxes.

Lawn ornaments lights connected to other objects and other holiday decorations aren’t eligible for recycling.
