Inauguration set for new DuPage County officials

Newly elected DuPage County Board members will take their oath of office during an inauguration ceremony on Monday night.

Democrats Saba Haider and Andrew Honig are joining the county board. Four board members reelected last month — Republican Cindy Cronin Cahill and Democrats Lynn LaPlante, Lucy Chang Evans and Greg Schwarze — will start new terms.

Several countrywide elected officials also will be sworn in on Monday. They are: State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, Circuit Court Clerk Candice Adams, Auditor Bill White, new DuPage Coroner Judith Lukas and Liz Chaplin, who is taking over the recorder of deeds office after 12 years on the county board.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium in the county government building at 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.
