Police: Elgin man went home after evading traffic stop

Bartlett police on Sunday arrested an Elgin man accused of speeding and driving recklessly while attempting to flee an officer trying to make a traffic stop.

Jonathan Lopez, 21, is charged with two Class A misdemeanors for reckless driving and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He also is charged with a Class B misdemeanor for aggravated speeding. Lopez received traffic citations for failure to signal when required and improper lane use.

Bartlett police said an officer attempted a traffic stop on a black Dodge After an investigation, Bartlett police, with assistance from the Elgin Police Department, located Lopez at his residence, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Lopez is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6, at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
