Police: Des Plaines man damaged neighbor’s Christmas lights

A Des Plaines man is facing charges alleging he slashed the tires on a neighbor’s vehicle and damaged his Christmas lights during an ongoing feud, police said Monday in a news release.

Victor Mercado, 30, of the 2000 block of Pine Street, is charged with criminal damage to property.

Police were called to the neighborhood Friday. Surveillance video showed Mercado near the vehicle, according to the release.

Mercado was released after processing.
