Columnist misunderstands the country

The Susan Estrich column of Nov. 8 is laughable. The effort to place blame on some group or entity that allowed Donald Trump to be elected is ludicrous. It seems obvious that enough voters (a plurality of over 3.2 million) and the Senate and House coming under Republican control says it all — that enough of us did not want a continuation of the past four years. Later in the column, she says it would do no good to keep trying to place blame. “It’s everyone’s fault,” she says. Why the effort to place blame when such a large number voted for this change?

I believe there was no campaign strategy that Harris could have used that would have made a difference in the outcome. And Estrich says that maybe if Biden had dropped out sooner or not gotten into the race in the first place, Democrats may have selected a “best” candidate. Seems to imply that Harris was not the “best” one. Hardly.

One note that Estrich got right — Bidenomics didn’t work, so many voters felt they are worse off as a result of Bidenomics.
