Season of Hope event highlights six Lake County nonprofits
The American Place Casino will be hosting the Season of Hope Event, which aims to showcase the impactful work of six nonprofit organizations in Lake County, on Dec. 6.
This event allows each organization to raise awareness for their causes, with the winning organization receiving a $5,000 donation.
With the season of giving approaching, American Place Casino seeks to give back to local nonprofits in the form of a tree-decorating event. The casino invites the public to vote for their favorite holiday-decorated tree created by these six nonprofits: the Staben House, Save-A-Pet, Waukegan Parks Foundation, BiG Great Lakes, Coalición Latinos Unidos of Lake County, and YouthBuild Lake County.
“We are happy to give back to the community on such a big month,” Said Julie Ivic, director of communications at American Place Casino.
At the Dec. 6 event, these organizations are invited to attend the award ceremony in which the first-place tree winner will receive a $5,000 donation.
"The casino will continue promoting the event via social media until the awards night and encourages followers to cast their votes in person at the temporary casino location, 4011 Fountain Square Place, Waukegan. Voting remains open until November 30, with the awards ceremony taking place on December 6."
