Snow flurries blew into the suburbs Thursday with a wet blanket of the white stuff and slushy bit of fun for the first time this fall.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Chicago and the surrounding suburbs should expect a wetter than normal winter this season.

On the other hand, the 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts that the same area will have a cold dry winter.
