Blue Man Group bids Chicago farewell

After 27 years, The Blue Man Group will bid farewell to Chicago.

The enigmatic, interactive, nonverbal ensemble comprised of bald, blue men concludes its longtime residency at the Briar Street Theatre on Jan. 5, 2025. Tickets for the final performances are available at blueman.com/chicago.

“It is with deepest gratitude to announce the final performances in Chicago,” said Jack Kenn, managing director of Blue Man Group in a prepared statement.

A combination of physical theater, music, comedy and performance art, Blue Man Group Chicago opened in 1997, six years after friends and collaborators Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton premiered their idiosyncratic show in New York City.

“Blue Man Group is unlike anything else in the world and is undeniably one of the most recognized and successful entertainment productions because of the hardworking cast, crew and creative team,” Kenn said. “It was because of them that these shows captured millions of hearts night after night, and we give our utmost thanks.”

The blue men currently perform in Boston, Las Vegas, New York, Berlin and Shanghai with a remount scheduled to open in Orlando, Florida, in April 2025.
