‘Lost and Found Artifacts of Diamond Lake’ exhibit extended
A special display, “Lost and Found Artifacts of Diamond Lake,” at the Mundelein Heritage Museum is being extended. The exhibit is a visual record comprising artifacts discovered in the lake by John Hynds, a retired firefighter and metal detector enthusiast. Hynds has collected hundreds of artifacts and with images, maps and research has chronicled the life of Diamond Lake for the last 200 years. The museum at 601 Noel Drive, is open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It will close for the season Dec. 14 and reopen mid-March.
