Enjoy ‘A Night of Christmas Music’ at Elgin church Dec. 7

The community is invited to enjoy a free concert of Christmas music performed by talented Elgin area vocalists and musicians on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Elgin.

The concert will begin at 5 p.m. at the church, 1565 Larkin Ave. A reception with light refreshments will follow the concert. Reservations are not required; there will be a freewill offering.

The highly talented group of creative artists, who have performed together many times over the years to rave reviews, include: tenors Jeorge Holmes, Simon Lee, and Franco Martorana; soprano Dr. Rise Jones; violinist Daniela Folker; and piano accompanist Murna Hansemann.

They will perform traditional and popular holiday music showcasing their individual and collective talents and musical focus.

• Holmes has a golden voice and personality that inspires while entertaining his audience.

• Lee has appeared in leading tenor roles with companies in the U.S., Europe as well as in Asia.

• Martorana is a golden-voiced tenor who has gained a well-deserved reputation for his interpretations of Italian and Neapolitan songs.

• Dr. Jones has a powerful voice and performed at special concerts in churches, restaurants and special events.

• Folker is principal second violinist for the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and a violin instructor at Judson University and College of DuPage.

• Hansemann plays the piano and accordion and has performed her entire life throughout the Elgin area and Europe.
