What truly should define us as Americans
I read every letter on your “Opinion” page for Monday, Nov. 11, and all, save one, sounded like they were written by a bunch of kids who didn’t get what they wanted and are sulking and lashing out, verbally. Very little respect was given to the veterans, some of whom risked life and limb to allow us the freedom to vote our choice. Very little respect was given to our new head of state. Very little respect was given to our fellow Americans. And you call yourselves adults?
Please, people, grow up. Stop whining like brats. Start acting like Americans and respect the process. You might be pleasantly surprised. If not, the election for 2028 will begin again in two years.
People, if you want to find an outlet for your feelings, roll up your sleeves and volunteer — to help the poor, the elderly, the ill, the infirm, challenged folks. Use all that frustrated energy, not in pushing pens with poison remarks, but in doing the good I know Americans can do to help each other.
May the Almighty bless us all and help us bless each other — no matter our political leaning. Politics should not define us. Goodness and kindness should.
