Oakton College’s Play On! Festival marks 15th year with six plays
Now celebrating its 15th year, the Play On! Festival is giving community college playwrights a chance to shine on Nov. 22-24.
Be the first to see these selections, written by students from Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Proceeds benefit performing arts students at Oakton College.
This year's lineup includes:
• “Cryptid Crew” by Shaina Parks of Milford, Mich., directed by Joseph Schmidt of Wood Dale
• “Great Lakes” by Jim Jacob of River Forest, directed by Felix Fieldman of Chicago
• “Observation Deck” by Janie Toft of Chicago, directed by Patricia Kelly of Skokie
• “Dare Ya” by Brooklyn Tracy of Northfield, directed by Grantly Scott
• “Heard Mentality” by Allison Fradkin of Northbrook, directed by Renee Namrood of Morton Grove
• “Turbulence” by Felix Fieldman of Chicago, directed by Kevin Paramby
Audiences will have the opportunity to experience these new works before anyone else with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the Studio Theatre, Room 1366, on the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
General admission tickets are $10 or $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available for purchase at the box office, or by calling (847) 635-1900.
