League to host ‘From Funding to Equal Access: The State of Illinois' Colleges’ Dec. 5
What’s going on with higher education in Illinois? Join the League of Women Voters of Illinois on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. to hear from Ralph Martire, professor of public policy at Roosevelt University and executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability. Martire will discuss the state of colleges in Illinois, from school funding to equal access.

Martire is the Arthur Rubloff Endowed Professor of Public Policy at Roosevelt University, where he teaches a range of courses that cover various aspects of public policy generally, and fiscal and education policy specifically. He is also executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability.

Martire facilitated numerous legislative successes (including passage of the Evidence Based Model of Education Funding in FY2018).
Martire was appointed by Governor JB Pritzker to serve on his Budget and Innovation Committee, and served as a member of the Equity and Excellence in Education Commission, established by Congress during the Obama administration as part of the Civil Rights Division of the Federal Department of Education.
