How you can donate toys in Maine Township

Maine Township officials, led by Highway Commissioner Ed Beauvais, are collecting toys for needy children this holiday season.

People can drop off new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 9 at the highway department headquarters, 1401 Redeker Road, Des Plaines. The effort is part of the annual Toys for Tots drive.

Donations are accepted weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon.
